SURFACE DESIGN STUDY: LASER CUT SAMPLE
At the first, I changed all the colors into greyscales. I used White, Light Grey, Grey, and Dark Grey. I thought I can only use those 4 types of greyscales but I realized that I could use many different greyscales after the final cut. But I believe the 4 types were enough for me at this time! :)
This is what I made in Rhino, it was quite hard for my design because it has a lot of places that touched each other as the same color. So I spent more than half-hour on this part. I put a little border on the frame to look more balanced.
Those are the screenshots of layers that I used before and after.
It was very interesting to see the laser printer! It only took about less than 10 minutes to cut, but very accurate and detailed.
I am really happy with the final came out as the same as what I thought, and the perfect differences of tones of variation. Anyway, using the laser cut machine was a great experience for me.
This is just my practice of greyscales. I hope to laser cut this when I have a chance to use the machine again next time.
