REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: SELECTION

 [REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: SELECTION]

The task I will be doing for three weeks is the REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT.

The goal of this project is to create a 3D model through the Rhino 7 using existing mechanical objects. After determining an item, I will decompose its components and examine the components constituting the object one by one. The products I chose are a stapler remover, a pen, and a compass.

[Object Examples]

The Stapler Remover

The reason why I choose this object is that it has an interesting appearance. It would try some new process in Rhino to modeling because it works with various functions of the Rhino program. However, it is the same top and bottom shapes and has only a simple part. I thought it is slightly out of the standard of the subject of this work.

The Compass

Compass seems very simple parts, but it has a quite interesting appearance in terms of design. It seems that I need to invest a lot of time to make a hole of pencil in the upper side of the curve and some details. It is considered suitable for this assignment for modeling because there are a lot of very thin and fine grooves inside and careful points in invisible places.

The Pen

Pens are one of the common tools that can be found very easily in our daily lives. Among them, the Jetstream pen is my favorite brand of writing instrument. I thought it would consist of very simple parts because it was an easy-to-get item. However, the jetstream pen is covered by transparent plastic covers on the outside, it was expected to be interesting when I modeling this product in Rhino. The rubber part stucks to the plastic cover and do not decompose, so I thought that it will be connected with glue. The ink and spring were very tiny and small but very delicately designed.

[My Final Selection]

My final selection is a Jetstream pen. The pen is a very simple product as everyone knows but the Jetstream pen has a very delicate design, unlike the others. I will focus on some details of this pen when I modeling.

[Details]

I sketched very small details that I could not take a photos
